We believe it’s because of aspirations. We have failed in offering enough opportunities for our young people to truly dream, to believe and achieve. If you don’t have aspirations, dreams and the skill, you’re not going to believe in yourself. If you don’t have that community of people around you telling you that you can, you won’t achieve even the small things for you.
LAHI Ignite Program was started to reduce the number of disconnected youth in Improvised communities by lowering their barriers to entry to the STEM ( Science Technology Engineering and Maths) professions and increasing their relevant experience in the innovation economy.
Modeled as a creative service agency, our projects teach design thinking, art, multimedia, tech and communication skills to give young people the technical and leadership tools they need to compete in the innovation economy and to be leaders in their community. Our Program offers studios and mentorship in 3D design, printmaking, painting, photography, coding, graphic design, film and animation.
We are Changing stories for youth in slums, because we see them differently—not as a charity, but as a worthy investment. We train youth in tech skills, connect them to suitable jobs, and provide capital to support their business ventures. There are more remote jobs available online than local jobs available anywhere. LAHI students learn fundamental digital skills that will unlock global opportunities.
