Our Reasons

A Young Population

With the population likely to double in the next 20 years, Kenya has 22 million children under 14 years old (49% of the population). This is increasing the demand for employment, food, and livelihood, pushing more and more young people into poverty.

An Uneducated Youth

There are more people in nursery and primary education in Kenya than ever before, putting a huge strain on the education sector. This has led to only 1 in 3 children making it to secondary school and 1 in 10 making it beyond secondary education.

Girls Impacted Most

It is girls who suffer most. 34% of girls in Kenya are married before they are 18 years old, even though it is illegal to marry before 18 years of age. Teenage pregnancy rates are extremely high, and this is driven by poverty and a lack of education.

Together We Can Change This

We believe that if every young person is educated, skilled, fed, watered and safe, we can see a new generation, inspired by faith, hope and love, transforming their communities.
